Elizabeth (Liz) Ruch received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Maywood University and has earned a Bachelor of Science in both Psychology and English Literature from University of Pittsburgh. Liz is a Nationally Certified Counselor and is currently working to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. She grew up in Allentown and has also lived in Pittsburgh, Jim Thorpe, and Scranton.

Liz has worked with children and adolescents at the inpatient psychiatric level while working at KidsPeace Children’s Hospital and has experience using the Life Space Crisis Intervention model to assist with turning crisis situations into learning opportunities to change self-defeating behaviors. Additionally, she has worked with children who struggle with anger management and increased stress levels at a specialized Stop Now And Plan (SNAP) summer camp. She has worked with both children and their families as a therapeutic support staff, and has provided group and individual counseling and assisted with outreach programs through her internship placement at Marywood University’s Counseling and Student Development Center. Liz has counseled children, adolescents, families, and adults struggling with a variety of issues including school/home behavioral issues, ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma. She uses an eclectic approach which encompasses humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, and interpersonal theories.  

Additionally, her work as an Emergency Medical Technician for 10 years has fueled a passion for working with medical professionals struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress.
