(570} 307-9066 ext 303
Clarks Summit, PA

Michael is a licensed social worker (LSW) in the state of Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Science from Marywood University, majoring in Psychology. Shortly thereafter, Michael relocated to California where he earned his Master of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Mental Health from California State University, Sacramento.

Michael’s collegiate and professional experiences were enriched by his immersion in the diverse communities of Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Sacramento, California areas. He developed the capacity for recognizing and appreciating the multifaceted and multicultural variances present not only in individuals, but in the groups and communities they reflect. Michael has worked as a case manager and therapist for children, adolescents, and adults in both Pennsylvania and California. His involvement beyond therapeutic interventions has included working with the judicial system, foster care agencies, Children and Youth, and community recourses. Work within this complex matrix gave Michael a certain objectivity, enhanced his empathy, and fortified his competencies for serving a diverse public with unique experiences.

Michael brings a compassionate therapeutic mindset and a passion for being a healthy change agent, striving always to improve the human condition. Michael’s approach to therapy is holistic and eclectic, with a strong emphasis in cognitive behavioral therapy. He understands novel challenges facing a population emerging from a rapidly evolving world and social structure. He listens intently, accepts unconditionally, and meets the client where they are, forming an alliance that fosters collaboration and trust. Michael emphasizes that the client is unique and central, and with proper guidance, ultimately their own most significant change agent. His goal is to help reestablish a healthy equilibrium in his clients by creating a stable base of coping skills, and eventually to empower clients to achieve such confidence in these mechanisms that they are able to meet their healthiest potential.
