Tom is a Licensed Social Worker who received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Marywood University. Tom also attended Cedar Crest College for his undergraduate education and earned a Bachelor’s of Social Work.
Tom has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults on both an inpatient and outpatient basis; as well as in the home, school, and community settings. Tom’s background includes medical social work; multiple levels of drug and alcohol treatment; a variety of mental health settings, including acute inpatient, as well as diagnostic; and behavioral health. Tom’s experience includes working with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder; as well as Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities. Tom is also certified in performing Functional Behavioral Assessments and is certified through the Department of Human Services.
Over the years, Tom has learned to effectively use a multitude of evidenced-based therapies, including Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Behavioral Therapy; combined with other learned techniques, such as Strength-Based Approach and Motivational Interviewing to combat today’s widespread problems and common diagnoses: Stress; ADHD; Depressive Disorders; Anxiety Disorders; and so on. Tom is experienced in both Individual and Family Therapy. Tom also offers the specialty therapy of Parent Child Interaction Therapy and is certified through PCIT International.
Tom has practiced professionally in both the Wyoming and Lehigh Valleys, but is a Native of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Area.
